Voyager

Michael Reilly This album is quite a blend, sometimes offering nothing more than direct rock 'n' roll, yet MJtW showcase a capacity for joyous and exciting alt-rock with strong prog and metal influences that pleases with its creative depth. A solid release with many highlights. Favorite track: The Karman Line.
Bucky

Bucky Took me a while to pull the trigger on this based on the price, but the more I listened the more hooked I became. An exquisite blend of progressive metal, traditional doom and hard rocking hooks. The sharp riffs build in intensity as the album plays. The production levels are crisp and clear and the artwork puts it over the top. This could very well be a sleeper album of the year.

paul rote This has potential to be a classic.
I don’t agree with the tags associated here , but don’t know what tags to use either
I hear High Tide , Jethro Tull , Early Manilla Road .
This is fairly complex and unique.

A decision secretly made for the life we chose to lead. Oh, how insecure we sleep, we dare to bleed. And I know this may be wrong but I don’t want to hear that’s the only chance before we disappear… When the wind blows you away And the ground you stand is high The silence in the eye of the storm And I feel no relief until the road is homeward bound, Hoping to find you there somehow, to come back around. And of all the stories we made the best one’s yet to come. And as the moon is never full under my thumb. When the wind blows you away And the ground you stand is high The silence in the eye of the storm But after all the guilty stay I cannot keep my mouth shut. I must spit what’s in my head “the intuition knows your gut”. To keep it moving, keep on breathing this is the only chance we got! To leave this mark inside your brain, to make it feel like it’s your thought. And if the credits roll, the fire may it burns a little more… So you can really feel the rain, when you are standing at the door. Cause I don’t care about the rulebook, I only know what’s in my head! Beware of those who hurt you but I felt alive each time I bled.

Knee Scratch 05:35
So move your ass, we’re cutting class today to live a story. Discover what the future holds, to find the guts for glory. Oh, I’m sick of all who pretend to be Kings of the desert, locked in a cage When other people hold the key. We’re only children of the sea. The dancing lady looked at me and tried to hold my hand. But then she came closer still, tried to pull the way I stand. And the man who schooled the vagabond He started to laugh and gave me the eye, But sang no evil for my soul. “Don’t take your body as the whole”. Cause we are not afraid to go astray, We are the rebels anyway, Wondering if there is a price to pay… All my heroes underground they don’t show their face around. Move your ass, we are cutting class today Let’s try being a part of a story! I don’t know much, we don’t live for the past Don’t belong in the same category. No more!

It’s about time we let go of our thick abode And start to climb, shine on. Cast away the pride, before you get to raise your voice And dig your mind, is it you? Follow what you fear to conquer all that you’ve been missing. Be sincere, wear your own face. Heavy as the rain a whisper breaking through the silence, A crimson stain you can’t wash away. We need to take on every road, We got to find our missing home Fate, freight train comin’ Every twisted voice hides an unfulfilled desire, It’s your choice what you leave behind. Seeking higher land, you’ve got to embrace the fall And if you stand, you stand alone… We need to take on every road, We got to find our missing home Fate, freight train comin’

Show me the high lands when I’m the only one you see below, Down the road I go. Hide in the shadow of memories looking down on me Dare I show them what will be? Home Feel the currents flow, they ‘re heading far away from me So long bare reality. Home

Banishment 06:46
Concrete walls surround the everlasting dream Of the man who chose exile, mind filled to the brim. Some men will bite the stone and some will chase the sky, Some men will sleep until they’re sober and some will pass you by. Horses ready to retire From the race around the tree. Bridles and the cat of nine tails Condemned to the sea. I’m staring at the dime, until it’s bloody red And then I’ll chop it into pieces to feed the masquerade. It can’t be hard to reach, across Boreas blow. Let the wind bury the madness deep inside the snow. Horses ready to retire From the race around the tree. Bridles and the cat of nine tails Condemned to the sea. I cannot give in, I have to chase all that make me feel my own.
7.
Monolith 10:18
Black sun, starless night, A double moon above the mountain. Cloud rings intertwined, All spiraling towards the fountain, That’s gushing blood towards the earth. Indestructible the command Turning into a profound new element. Summoned from the sky on the land. The alliance and the order from the dead. Arcane fire on high, The blackest stone becomes the ember. Temples. Triangles. To seek the truth is to remember, How it is to live with no regrets. Indestructible the command Turning into a profound new element. Summoned from the sky on the land. The alliance and the order from the dead. “I call upon the seven seas to witness the rite, stone from the sky And reign, Monolith” “I call upon the astral plane, the darkness binding beneath the sun And reign, Monolith”
8.
Hoping to justify all that he knows about, The weary dancer. Falling inside the haze beneath the shadow of doubt, But still he’s dreaming on. Heading forward, carry on! People that move in a shadow play. In solitude he found no need for higher ground. So what’s the difference? The struggle to forget will come around. His own deliverance he knows is hard to get when glory bound. This Voyage is coming to an end Or is the wave beginning? So what’s the difference, The shore not far ahead will give his life new meaning. Falling dry and ripe like October leaves That drank the summer. Full of winter grey in time he still believes. The Way of Grace is drawn On the carvings of blood. Life is still waiting to heave away. Hard as the wind will blow, one day he’ll rise I know. So what’s the difference? The struggle to forget will come around. His own deliverance he knows is hard to get when glory bound. This Voyage is coming to an end Or is the wave beginning? So what’s the difference, The shore not far ahead will give his life new meaning. This is something that I used to know, Why are we so weak And if we are worth something Just by existing.
